D2a radiator longevity and nanocom temp readings.

    G'day all.
Just wanting opinions on how long the original radiator should last in a '04 D2a? It is the original radiator with religious OAT/demineralization water changes. I have recently aquired a Nanocom Evo and have monitored the coolant temp in instrument mode. From what I have read on the good oil, my temps seem around normal. But, after a short trip to Glendale and back (around 12km's) the coolant temp got up to 96 deg C. The ambient temp being 23 deg C. I changed the thermostat 12 months ago and have just changed the coolant. (Nulon long life OAT with demineralized water 50:50). My temp gauge never goes over half way and the TM2 was registering 85 deg C at the time the Nanocom was registering 95 deg C. When I got home the bottom of the radiator felt cooler than the top. I do realize that engine temp fluctuates under load/conditions and the results do not overly alarm me it's just that when I'm towing my van I want everything Mickey mouse. Your thoughts please!!.
    Regards

I just had my front replaced including radiator (thanks skippy) and it had the original radiator, I'd flushed and been using decent coolant and water wetter with demineralised water.

Would run at 94-96 on the nanocom and up to 98 in traffic.

Post replacement temps, considering I'm also running a freelander 82degree thermostat with a lower pressure bypass spring it now sits on 86-87, rain, hail or shine, 20 degrees or 35 degrees.

The original rad doesn't look bad, it's not missing fins, bent a bunch of fins or is clogged but has a coating of brown "stuff" inside that doesn't really come away without scraping with a metal implement.

the factory temp gauge is only a dash filler! It will only rise above 1/2 way when there is steam billowing from the engine bay My TD5 nanacom readings are 82-85 highway cruising or around town, ambient day temp does not seem to affect it greatly. Pushed hard up hills or with a car trailer loaded with a 2A s/wagon it has hit 105 but as soon as the loud pedal is lightened its back into the high 80's-low 90's. the temp will rise quickly but drop just as quick when load is off, eg crested hill.
As far as I know itthe cooling system is all original( '02 EU3 spec)

Mine reads basically the same on my nanocom after I had a new radiator fitted and then a replacement engine with 40K on it. Prior to that my nanocom was reading 94-96 on normal operation, and up to 100 plus on some short term heavy work
