    Roof rack types

    Looking into getting some roof racks for my Td5. At the moment I am tossing up between getting the roof rail extension and then getting Rhino bars or getting a set of Thule gutter mount roof racks.
    Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are? I do plan on a bit of touring. Not sure how much will end up on the roof at this stage.
    Also does anyone know if a set of discovery 1 factory floor mats will fit a disco 2?

    I'd say that the gutter mounts, either Rola, Rhino or Thule, would be the easiest and cheapest option.

    The roof rail extensions look the neatest tho, but need some cutting/drilling of the roof. Not sure how available they are these days either.

    Wrt to floor mats I would guess that the disco 1 mats would be a pretty close fit to the D2. I'd expect minor differences in the front but rears should be the same.

    Rola roof bars

    I recommend Rola racks with sports bars as these are a much lower profile that the Rhino. Lets you car still fit into some carparks. Some will say sports bars have less carring capacity,(40 kg v 50kg) but it depends what you carry. I carry a kayak or Rhino cage and bag on 2 bars. You could always add a third cross bar if you want more capacity.
