Exclamation TD5 Down lots on power HELP pls

    Hi all,
This is for a friend who has a TD5 disco and has owned since new..

Basic lack of power in low rev range,
First half of the pedal is useless.
Tramp down and it slowly takes off.
Going up hills it slowly looses speed and when you put your foot down hard it has very little power.
He has note that the ar smells unusual unlike before and is frustrating to drive and he cant tow his tool trailer at all..

My mate is frustrated as he has spent lot of money and had new head gasket, new turbo, new fuel pressure block, new catalytic converter.
The mechanics have tried hard and put in time unpaid to solve this issue so he knows he isnt being ripped off.
They are suggesting x-ray of injectors or replacing them..

All advise will be passed on and gratefully appreciated.
    Cheers
    Jim

Injector loom may have oil in it check the red plug at the ecu. I replaced mine and it made a big difference in power. i would even get rid of the catalytic converter this will help spool turbo quicker give more power lower revs. If ur injectors are rooted it would probably be blowing alot of smoke out the back.

Sounds like a problem with the fly by wire accelerator.

check the throttle pot settings, if its a 3 wire configuration check that its getting full reading on both sides, it should also have a driver demand code come up if its the pot/loom on the TPS/driver demand leg of business.

Also check waste gate actuators not holding open
    Egr is not holding open
turbo hoses havent been folded or damaged on installation.

What readings would you expect on the nanocom?

Blknight, what would the settings be on a nanocom for this type of problem? Pot 1 should be a high voltage and Pot 2 be low is normal for this with both adding up to the throttle voltage (around 5v), so what are incorrect readings?

the twin pot setup is a balancing act when one is high the other is low, It'd be exceptionally rare for the numbers to be out by a significant value without also having one of the other driver demand errors show up.
