vibration in dash - near windscreen. ..

Hi all. My dash got pulled to replace a heater matrix...few weeks later developed an annoying vibration especially when revving over 3000rpm...sounds like its right near the windscreen. Is there anyway to pull up the black plastic vent near the screen to see if there is anything doen there? I have tried a magnet. Or will I have to pull out hvac and radio and come in from thst way to check anything obvious?

    Cheers

Ozscott, I had a speed related vibration that was coming from the dash passenger side near windscreen. I was the black plastic A piller moulding out side, the wind would make it rattle at certain speeds. Broken retaining at the clips.

I think there was a Land rover bulletin about a rattle behind glove box , remedy was a cable tie, pulling your matrix out did you need to pull and wiring out of the way?
    cheers, Mario

Heater comes out the drivers side of the heater box, and what were they doing removing the dash???? Totally not necessary for this task.
If your vehicle is a manual, check very carefully the clutch hydraulic lines where they clip to the firewall, if they are loose or have become unclipped they will 'buzz' against there clips or even each other at the 2500 to 3000 rpm range in a td5.

Thanks Gents - will check those things. I had a crack in the plenum cover and thought that would be it because the buzz is only slightly off centre favouring the driver's side - Justin it does sound like a buzz not a rattle - but after black adhesive silicon and no more movement it has not changed. My bet is probably something on the firewall high up or sending the buzz up so I will have a good look at the clutch lines (V8 Manual). The gearbox and clutch was removed to do both, so perhaps they became dislodged? I will check the pillar to thanks Roverlord.

Justin - I dont know mate. I left it to them. It was basically a day's labour for the dash to come out to get to and remove the heater maxtrix and replace it with a new one. The new unit itself was $220 from memory. The old one was stuffed and flushing didnt help and it was putting out zero heat...no good when you have a lad that loves rowing at 4.00am in winter!!!

Many thanks gents. I will report back.

    Cheers
