    Td5 accelerator pedal

    My accelerator pedal feels rough like it has got sand in. Anyone had the same problem? At this stage it is more of an annoyance.
    My vehicle is an early D2 so has a 2 pot accelerator. LR tell me the original part no. Sab101390 has been superceded with LR030567 at a whopping $1017.
    I am thinking I should pull it out an have a closer look.
    Any suggestions or other options would be appreciated.

    Take it out, have a look, clean and blow out the pivot, can't hurt

    Worst case, you can get a used one for a more reasonable price

    I replaced my pedal about 3yrs ago and I'm sure it was only around $300.00?, it was making the engine miss and had no torque at all!, brought up "driver demand " fault a few times . New pedal and what a difference!
    Try 'Driven Automotive" in the UK, great prices and fast shipping, I got a genuine TD5 fuel pump for $420.00 delivered!, around $700.00 here

    But the question is

    How do you get at it, more to the point how do you get the accelerator pedal assembly out?

    Do you have to cut the sound proofing away on the firewall?

    They could have at least bolted it from inside, awkward but easier.

    They are fixed to the firewall from inside the car, don't cut the sound proofing. You will need a 3/8 drive 13mm socket with suitable extensions or similar. Annoyingly awkward to get around the large wiring loom and the plug can be a little tight as well.

    How can you test the TPS eg. if you get a second hand one to know that it's working OK before fitting.

    Are there any resistance values to check for for any wire or wire pair or something..


    I'm about to hook up the nanocom again to bros TD5 to see if this driver demand issue comes back now that boost issue has been 'sorted' a bit.

    What would be more annoying than spending close to 1K to definitely fix a problem, would be to spend $80-100 and, more to the point, the time wasted pulling and refitting the pedal and it not being sorted.
    (and of course spending that $1K on top of that anyhow and the time to pull and refit it all over again!)
