    modifying seat rails

I had a quick search but couldnt find any info about this on AULRO.

I was going to replace the drivers seat with a recaro, but I have run out of time before the big trip. So I thought maybe I could just modify the seat rail to allow a bit more leg room.

Before I go removing the seat to have a look, has anyone done this? Any tips or suggestions would be great.

I dont mind the D2 seats, but I just dont have enough leg room so I want to push the seat back a couple of inches.

    Thanks,

    Adam

I did a Google on this a week or so ago, and I couldn't find anything designed for D2.
I have a set of Recaros with Recaro rails and Recaro seat belt mounts.
I can see a couple of problems.
1 The pyrotechnic seat belt anchor needs an anchor towards the front of the runner. Assuming you want the car legal these would have to be retained
2 the runners and bases are assymetric, not like an RRC .

3 It looks to me without pulling my current seats out yet , that the seat belt anchor is on the base. The seat is actually rivetted to the base with very strong looking steel rivets, and these would need to be drilled out to separate the seat and base. They do not look to be in a straight line or anywhere near the Recaro mounts on the Recaro seat itself.

4 I have put this off to another day, as it looks like fabricated mounts to match the seat to the base will be needed and they will be quite complex.
