Could be as simple as air in the system. The reservoir is shared with your brakes as well. Or it could be a buggered MC or SC or both. Try bleeding the slave cylinder. How many K's are on the clutch?

Hey guys,
Was hoping somebody might have an answer to an issue that has just started to occur on my 01 manual td5.
I pulled up at some traffic lights the other day and the clutch pedal seemed to go a bit loose all of a sudden, I had just put it into neutral and found that I could not select any gears at all...
I've found that if I kill the engine the problem persists, but if I turn the electrics off as well I can select gears again as normal.
I let the car sit for a while, started it up and then had no issues driving it home but the problem occurred again last night.
Any thoughts??
