    Talking MAF sensors

Once again, last one just got in the 12 months[warranty], so I'm looking for a quality part? Is it reflected by the price you pay? I don't think so!!!! I have asked suppliers where the part, be it OEM etc, was manufactured or where it comes from..... No answers yet...So I looked up seimens MAF MHK100620 I can buy as many as I like from the chinese manufacturer all stamped 5WK9607 Z[or 2]...! When I examine the 2 units I have, the probes inside look radically different one having 2 similar probes, the other: one solid probe the other seemingly not complete but with a inclusion beside it. Neither seem to work!! Been on a couple of other sites some even think the replacement of the MAF sensor should be done as a service item[how rich are these people] So back to AULRO--HELP

    Hi Greg,

You don't need this stress, buy an original part from a reputable LR dealer or parts supplier here or in the UK. Pay the going price and not think about it for another 5 years.

70 pounds seems cheap for genuine, buying from pomland Im guessing doesnt make it automatically legit

I never got a quote off our ex LR dealer but the Ebay seller who sold me a bosch fuel pump for just under 400 (versus ex LR dealer $750) quoted the maf as 500ish

Ive been looking at Airflow Sensor - ERR7171 | Discovery Series 2 | Land Rover | British Parts UK but that seems awful cheap, and
Land Rover Mass Air Flow Sensor (Genuine Part # ERR7171) - Land Rover Fuel System Parts though god knows what the differences are..
(no I dont need one yet, unless the plugs and sensors switch doesnt help the power problem)

The one I bought was supposed OEM but as stated differing in pin structure. The gen. L/R from UK is 125 pounds but as it was explained at the time of purchase the OEM was exactly the same. They are around the $200 mark here in Aus. but I like to exhaust all possibilities before I part with my hard earned---as the D2 has cost me Quite a bit since purchasing and I unlike some have to watch my pennies

on my income and expenditures I should probably drive a micra...
Sorry for the questioning, I just try to learn some of this stuff in advance so when it comes my turn I can make the right choice earlier (and with my lack of pennies I don't wish to have to do it twice trying to skimp as is my usual temptation)

I've narrowed it down to two UK suppliers:driven2automotive,andDLS both found on Ebay as LR suppliers and both MAF units VDO [siemens germany] for around 80 pounds

    are both those options genuine?

guessing this might be one of the bad idea ones? (suspiciously cheap)

This was another one which seems good for genuine )or at least I thought so given the price I was quoted locally though not as well priced as what you found)

and what the hell is this one (same part number but...is it just the core of whats in the black thing?)

Try British Car Components in Melb. 0393295766 info@britcar.com.au
I did a real quick hunt around earlier this week and they claimed to have LR OEM ~$235 and an identical (Siemens) component without the LR OEM box for $185ish.
