    Recommended Tyres for Disco 2

I have just installed a 50mm lift kit in the D2 and need to replace the tyres pretty urgently. The last trip out to the powerlines shredded two of the tyres quite badly, so much so that one of them was down to the steel radial wires and I hadn't spotted it because the tear was on the inside of the tyre.

So I am looking for recomendations on size and brand of tyre as well as suggestions on supplier.

    Thanks

Toyo Open Country A/T. 255 65 16. Best tyres I've ever had and good value. Same size as originals. Quite on road and plenty of grip.
    Regards

Thanks for the suggestion Robbo, but I should have added that I want to get tyres which are A) a bit larger , to give a bit more clearance on the diff and have grip on the sidewall for better sand/mud grip when deflated

The LandRover gods have decided that I need to buy tyres today, came out this morning and one of the rear tyres was flat with a nail in it.

Are these any good? I have got Maxxis tyres on the Vitara and they have been fairly good on road but not really had the opportunity to see what they are like offroad.

Only place close to me that has 235/85/16s in stock are Wangara Tyrepower so am going with the Cooper St Maxx which looks like a good 50/50 tyre with extra sidewall layers.

Not cheap though, $334/tyres and I need 5!
