How not to install a 2 inch lift kit...

This is how a lift kit install shouldn't go...

Put the Disco up on the jack and laid out the correctly rated axle stands under chassis points. When lowering the jack, it dropped suddenly crashing the car onto the stands, spitting one out the side of the car and flattening the second one, the jack went straight through the bottom of the sump.

9 litres of oil all over the floor and a 3 hour job turns into an 8 hour nightmare with most of the time spent under the car in oily sand...

The other 2% made it home.

    Bugger !!

But it could have been worse if you or someone else were under it.

Might be time for a new jack by the sounds of it.

Could have been a whole lot worse. The jack needed oiling, it sure as hell got it.

We did the lift kit on Saturday, fixed it in the end with a new sump and a lot of effort! New tyres being fitted as we speak.

Not sure why or if the jack was under the sump, could have been on a cross member and the car slid forwards when the jack collapsed. Scared the crap out of me though.

Got the lift sorted on Saturday, fixed the sump (all but for a oil leak from the oil return joint where the stud thread is stripped) and got the tyres installed yesterday.

This is how it should look....
