Thread: Bar Indicators

Hi

On both my D2 & Defender ARB had fitted them and used the little blue connectors that when squeeze them together they cut through the shielding to create the contact.

I myself have soldered the cables to the indicator wires and put a water proof connector between my solder and the indicator so if I remove the bar I don't have to cut the cables.

I was kind of hoping there was already a plug there, as like you say I'd rather not have to chop up the wiring every time I take the bar off.
I'll chase down a connector then.

You either need to run inline relays on your blinkers in the bar or the trailer light will flash on the dash with out a trailer connected or just use Led globes , All the cars ive owned with fitted bullbars from we all know who were just spliced in so the trailer light would flash , So the easy fix is led globes

Fit 10 watt bulbs in the bar = No more flashing trailer light on the dash

Yes, definitely wire in with removable plugs. Otherwise the horrible little quick connects cut the insulation allowing moisture into the cable causing corrosion and wicking which will cause electrical problems down the track! I find it is easiest and neatest to take the indicator/park lamp housing out and run from the bulb connector wiring. For the extra bulb fix as SiddersC said, change to 10w or LED, I liked LED
