TD5 noise after engine stops
Hi folks, its a d2a td5 and developed a harmless so far but annoying vrrrr sound.
I wonder what would be still spinning after the engine is turned off. The sound is like a propeller plane passing in distance. The sound is coming from the engine bay and can be heard for as long as 7 secons after I turned the engine off. Its just not enough to find where its coming from exactly.
Thnx in advance

Centrifugal oil filter. Domed thing, midway back LHS of engine block.
7 seconds does sound Ike a while tho...
Have a listen to it next time you stop with someone else shutting engine off.

Pretty normal. Some genuine filters have gone on that long on one of our TD5'S.

If your Td5 centrifuge dosen't take at least 5 seconds to spin down you are not using a genuine filter, Its the only filter that I always buy genuine ! Ive had aftermarkets that don't make any spinning noise at all and that is bad, they are not doing their job. My current rotor takes at least 10 seconds to spin down to a stop.
