With a lift you'll fit a set of 265/75R16 Muddies (which almost a 32), comfortably without any rubbing.

He's mad. Airbags give such a better ride, handle weight and are great for towing, plus you can raise you're rear 50mm at the push of a button.
If it's the original airbag, it's probably about 10 years old, that's a fair result.
They're cheap and v. easy to replace.
    I'd never convert to coils.
Thanks for the info and the pic. I have to admit I had a pang of sadness when I looked under mine to see coils. The mechanics I've spoken to have all said almost everyone ditches the airbags but I was hoping to give the airbags a go first before making that call.

The SLS system is excellent when working correctly

Most airbags will be getting on to at least 10 years old if original, things don't last forever

I will never get rid of my air bags, it is great

Buy yourself a black marking pen,
open the bonnet, when the engines cold and on a flat surface,
    and mark the coolant level.

    and check it.
    religiously.

or buy a low coolant alarm

If it doesn't I'd be fitting one first up.
Is the CDL really that great? Mine has it but its not connected. Until you lift wheels, I think traction control works fine. I mean if you are rock climbing, doing 5km/h or less and a wheel lifts, the monentary loss of motion until brakes are applied to the lifted wheel might be enough that it will stop moving foward but if you are just in a bog and doing 15km/h and one wheel picks up to 20km/h over the ohters at 15km/h then that wheel will be braked and you'll hadly notice it, other than the light on the dash and the noise of the ABS pump.

    Happy Days

Or get a Madman engine monitor. It comes with 2 screw that you screw into the side of the coolant bottle. Connect an earth to one screw and the sensor wire to the other. When the water falls below the screws the alarm goes off. Simple.

    Happy Days.

That's on the short list. But I'll be getting one that does an engine temp audible warning as well.

You can hear the ABS pump? ;-)

Actually that brings up something I was curious about. Apart from the CDL, are the front and rear diffs not limited slip? I guess they don't *need* to be if the traction control kicks in to stop a lifted wheel slipping.

With limited slip you'd have to lift 2 wheels for the CDL to be *needed* right?

Get yours connected, see if you notice a difference

Traction control is good, but traction control and CDL is awesome, I am constantly blown away by how easy mode does things

No LSD in a standard disco

The first thing I have fitted to my landies has been an engine save low coolant alarm, easily pays for itself in peace of mind

Mostly because they dont know how to fix them. I'm working on getting mine workning agian (coils fitted by the previous owner). I plan to carry a spare bag which can be changed easily, fit taps to isolate the bags if the pump or valve mess up and fit tyre valve to the line after the tap so I can pump them up if the rest of the system has failed.

I even had a Land Rover Tech up here tell me I can fit a after market pump because there are valves inside the LR pump and I should just fit coils. They obviously hadn't looked at the system too hard because there is only 3 valves and none of them are inside the standard pump. There are a few other guys on here that have already used aftermarket pumps.

    Happy Days.
