    blowing black smoke

    Well here I go again my 2002 td5 is blowing black smoke mainly when cold seems to be unburnt diesel any ideas what it could be. The car is a manual egr blocked off could this be injector seal and is the going to cost me biG $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ .

    Check to see if it's making oil or any signs of diesel in the oil.
    Also check for your turbo hoses delaminating.
    FWIW I don't think Injector seals are a major job, or an expensive one for that matter.

    If its blowing black smoke and not running properly on 1 cylinder maybe you have an injector issue on that cylinder
    Be careful if its dribbling in you could damage a piston

    Thanks all car is at BOR now they put a good dose of injector cleaner through it they have told me it's much improved don't have access to diagnostic tool have full faith in BOR .
