    D2 Questions - Immobiliser/Stereo

    hi all,

Just a couple of questions re the D2.
Q1 - When I lock the doors using the key fob and then return some time after, after inserting the key and waiting for the glow plug light (Td5) to disappear I notice the immobiliser red light still on (not flashing though) and unable to start the vehicle. Annoying. Why is this happening? Is the car still immobilised hence the red light on and hence why it wont start. I simply close the doors alarm and dis-alarm using the fob then the light disappears. Any suggestions.

Q2 - Standard radio stereo system with cd, recently when i turn of ignition, lock doors with key fob notice the stereo comes back on. Once I noticed a reading on the display stating 1hour, does this mean the stereo can be programmed to work for up to 1hr even though the ignition is off and the car locked. Just concerned about draining the battery. I think I may need a new stereo but just curious if others have had this experience. thx

Mine every now and then dosent seem to turn the imobiliser off. I just lock and unlock with the key fob and it has always worked.
I havent taken note of what the lights do though. As usually I start the car before getting into the seat. Stops me from driving off without flicking some oil around the engine for abit.

Like most newish cars. The stereo can be turned on and made to run for a certain time after the keys are removed. In the Disco's case its an hour.
It turning on by itself dosent sound right though. I know mine I have to push the power button on the stereo for it to do it.

Same with mine. The only thing is that with the ignition fully off and/or key out, the radio reception, particularly on AM is very poor. I think that's because the signal amplifier is not powered. You are best leaving key turned to first position (accessories?) if you want to listen to the radio.
