Yes suppliers have to allow for the facts and fools

In saying this I spoke with Rapid this morning and high lighted the fact about the off road disclaimer and they informed me they deal with any claim case by case
The DBA warranty excludes a rotor which has "been subjected to conditions beyond those for which it was intended, such as, but not limited to, being used in any form of motor sport." Given that the 4x4 Survival Rotors are advertised as being designed for "serious off road and heavy towing" that would imply that off road use would not automatically invalidate the warranty.

In fact the current DBA catalogue claims:

4WD vehicles often suffer significant brake fade and reduced performance when it comes to heavy towing, big downhill sections and disc cracking / shudder due to rapid heat changes during water crossings. DBA solves these safety and performance issues with the Survival Series T2 & 4000 series T3 rotors for extreme 4-wheel driving and / or towing.

    cheers

    Ha! That's the spirit man.

A happy ending makes everything worthwhile. Well, almost.

Sounds like it could have ended badly.

Good luck with that , Im sure if your unlucky enough to crack or warp rotors after a steep decent and had gone through water which caused it no warranty in the world will replace them due to someones stupidity ! Thats just asking for every nuffie in the world to distroy their brakes and claim its the rotors fault

Im sure you will find a disclaimer somewhere in their warranty against abuse or stupidity.
You should maybe seing as your the cut and paste guru cut and paste the whole article and leave it for others to make their mind up not just the bits that suit you no offence

Hey, what. Stupidity Guru. Everybody is cutting and pasting everywhere.

Well I agree and dont agree. It saves me having to read an entire article if someone just pastes the relivant part but if important parts are left out to change the nature of the information then thats different.

    Happy Days.

I would have thought most members were smart enough to type "dba warranty" into google if they really wanted to read the whole warranty. It is the first result that comes back.

So now you've found it and read the first line, I'd be interested in seeing where in the warranty you think there is a statement that excludes all off-road use, not just a general misuse and abuse clause.

If anyone has prices, can they post them up. It might come into the debate if we find the DBA are double the price of the Rapid RS rotors. If they are double the price, I'd want it specified you can do basicly anything to the rotor and it will be covered by warranty.

As previously stated in this thread by someone else that Rapid RS had replaced 2 sets of rotors under warranty before he went to DBA (Correct me if I am wrong, just to lazy to go back for the quote). Rapid RS seems pretty good for warranty.

I just found the guy, Brett, Todd, Rod, whatever his name is at Rapid RS to be very helpfull and accommodating to what I needed and cheap to boot.

    Happy Days.
