    Adjustable panhard rod advice

    Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good brand for a new panhard rod for a td5 disco s2. I've been advised to replace the existing to counteract the inner edge wear on my tyres, as the car has been lifted 2"

    Cheers

Sure it is panhard they said? I'm not sure how that affects tyre wear. Perhaps they meant the track rod??

Try APT Fabrications, they make them for RRC and D1, not sure about D2.

    What rod

Hi I'm wondering if you have been getting the right advice.

As Slunnie says the track rod at rear of axle controls the toe in toe out of the front wheels longer overall length means more toe in too much will cause the outside of the tyres to wear tyres will act like a snow plough lots of tyre drag/ scuffing.
Too little toe in will mean wear on inner edge of tyres as the road will be trying to force the tyres apart.

Adjustable panhard rod is used to keep alignment between front and rear axles as you lift the body up with longer springs one of the changes that happen on landrover's with coils is that the effective lenght of the panhard rod changes this pushes the front axle of alinement slightly.

I think as Slunnie says its a tracking (toe in) question any GOOD tyre/wheel alinement shop should sort you out.

Best to get it sorted soon wire brush track rod ends clamps etc on track rod and spray loads of penetrating oil on to help the alinement guy.

To add, if it is the toe adjustment, the standard bar is adjustable from the factory.

Nolathane sell and adjustable panhard rod to suit the D2. I believe the D2 panhard rod is the same as the D1. However, D2a has a revised setup which uses a shorter panhard rod (I cut a Nolathane unit down to suit my D2a).
