Thread: Disco 2 TD5 Auto box and towing +best for engine

as for Toowoomba range,, I had to go down it recently, roadworks meant only one lane, traffic flowed all right but the speed was around 15-20kph and 1st wouldnt lock-up, caravan brakes got a good workout!
I would think a standard TD5 would pull up in second OK,, its speed limited to 60 anyway

The torque converter locks up electronically, just to confirm what someone said earlier.

Read up the info on the Ashcroft Transmissions website. They have all the info on what TC works with what and what's good for ehat applications. There's basically 3 variations of TC, small, med & large. Not everything fits everything but there are worthwhile upgrades for the auto irrespective of what engine you're running.
