    Toyo muddies 24/75/16

    G'day,

Just about ready to replace my cooper stt , just wondering if anyone on here is running toyo tyres ? I was told that they are a big seller in the USA, and pretty much a copy of the coppers.

    Cheers

Hi Bronson, I have had my 265/75/16 Toyo M/T's on now for 81,000km with a five way rotation, I still have 5mm tread depth towards the centre of the tyres so I am thinking good for 100,000km. These tyres have been outstanding and i see they have reduced in cost since I purchased. A lot quieter than the Cooper St, I know this as I can hear St's when they drive beside me. I do a lot of beach driving as well as limestone rocks leading to the beach and limited mud and rock. The tyres perform really well on the beach for a M/T at pressures from 18psi down to 6psi. The tread wear has been very even and getting them balanced at 10,000 intervals on a force variable machine I often do not have weights on a rim. Wet weather road handling is very good although I am no Peter Brock, still good in the wet at 81,000...No punctures, no de beading. I do have some very small cracks developing on 1 only tyre between the blocks, they are tiny and picked it up when doing my last rotation, I contacted Toyo and they are going to view stating that Toyo are warranted for the life of the tyre.... I am going Toyo M/T's again, very impressed, previous tyres have been Michelin as the d2 came 100,000km, Cooper ATR 40,000 then removed as I kept staking them.. then the Toyos...

    Hey Aaron,

Thanks for the detailed reply, I was pretty happy with the coopers, but they recently developed real bad heal and toe after putting a 2 inch lift, since had an adjustable panhard rod installed, to bring it all back in line. The coopers were wearing perfect, they are now shot. By no means am I nagging them, but I was made aware of the Toyos that app are a direct copy of the coopers, and outsell bfg 6-1 in the USA.
Just need a few more reviews to from other users to get my decision made.

    Cheers
    Bronson
