Some of those reviews were helpful... the AC Delco filters rated well, although with a different filter than that which fits a Disco 2. Not sure if I can apply the results to all of their products; has anyone else used AC Delco?
Donaldson, MANN + HUMMEL and Cummins (Fleetgard) protect the most valuable on and offroad engines in the world. Chances are Donaldson and Cummins won't make a filter for your D2, however MANN + HUMMEL should.

All these companies are major OEM suppliers and guanartee all of their filters are "equal to or better than OEM"

Coopers (not cooper), mahle, delphi, fram, purolator and baldwin also generally make high quality filters.

I shelled out for an oil filled filter just the day before it was bagged big time on the forum. Fitted it any way as I had spent about $50 big ones.
Asked my land rover service guy and was told that they hate them as they weep oil into the MAF and mess it up . So now I just run the LR paper one. Gucci is not always best!( I have a TD5)
