    General Grippers

    Hello,

This has probably been asked many times so forgive me if it has. Has anyone had experience with using General Grippers on their Disco 255/55/R18?

Is that meant to be General Grabbers AT & AT2. From what I've been told there both very good. Intent to fit some to my L322 when budget allows.

Sorry you are correct General Grabbers.
Is the mileage, handling and noise reasonable enough to have them as everyday tyres? The Michelins I have at the moment are vey disappointing. Three punctures, hopeless off-road and worn out at 75K.
I was hoping to get a second set of off-road rims with MTs for the real work.

The Grabbers AT2 are very good. I have a set of then as 245/75/16 LT. My mate has had them for about 80,000 on his D2 also but as 265/70/16. My brother sells them as part of his 4WD business. They are more aggressive than quite a lot of AT's.

    Cheers

    Thanks for the info
The 18's will have a low profile so they will be an issue if I let the pressure down
I just want them for soft off road and will get 16/17 inch set with muddies for the serious stuff

Ive got a set of AT2s, sand and rock use so far, and everyday driving, I found them quiet and predictable on road, and great (so far) off..havn't gone below 20psi yet..havn't got stuck..plus they look good in 18's
No punctures..now at 15000kms and looking like they will do the 70k or so promised

I've got them on mine, when I can be bothered taking the muddies off. The previous owner got 120000km out of his first set of General Grabbers, so put a another set on not long before I bought the discovery. I have only used them off road a few times, i havent done 10000km in it yet, but was pretty happy with them. Good in sand for launching boats off sand bars. Once you let them down to 20 psi they are quite good for an AT tyre.

Just put a set of AT's on last week. Went for a 255/60/R18 for the extra side wall.
At only $289 each fitted, I though was a great price.
Very quiet on the road, not as aggressive as the AT2's but I couldn't wait a month for them.
They still have a scoloped edge and siping so they should still perform ok offroad.
