I have ordered a set Todd Co spacers from Lucky 8. They haven't arrived yet but they were the cheapest I could find. I considered they are very very simple peice of equipment. I figured there wasn't much that could set an expensive part from a cheap part.

    Happy Days.

Prior to fitting the bar, the hub to arch height was right at the bottom of the standard range (49cm). That dropped to 48cm with the bar, and since fitting the Dobinsons is now sitting at 51cm.

You don't need extended shocks at this level of "lift", obviously.

The spring are firmer than stock but seem to be pretty much spot on when travelling loaded on outback roads.

I went with the Dobinsons +45mm Std.

I was advised when I got them the Standard LR springs are 150lbs Linear rate springs, both the +20mm and +45mm Std Dobinsons are 190lbs and the Dobinsons Heavys are 250Lbs.

I can measure them is the morning from hub centre to guard. Mine has a ECB Alloy bar but I recon it weights as much as a steely. It's bloody heavy for an alloy.

I have ACE (not currently working) and I am resurecting the SLS.

    Happy Days.

I have red a few times that at 50mm lift you will be at the limit of needing castor correction. I feel mine is fine with castor but an adjustable pan hard rod wouldn't go a stray. Just my opinion.

I didn't want anything extreme. I actually like a lower centre of gravity. But I wanted to use some particular Bilstien shocks which were recommended for a 2 Inch lift. I have also red many times that 2 inch lift was a much better ride than standard and now I have it, I have to agree. 2 inches is not that much, it's not that high to get into and it looks correct heigh to me.

    Happy Days.

Bit the bullet. My Dobinson's shockies are now 85,000k old and the springs originals. I have ordered Dobinson 20mm lift from stock and Bilstein's for all corners. I will keep the Coilrite air bags in the rear and it should ride very well and tow very well.

    Cheers

Had a look there, tempted with the one inch SLS spacers.
Combined with some Dobinson springs I reckon that might suit me

I got caught out by that listing. When you read the listing the 1" spacers are for the front coils.
The only part you would need is the extender for the ride height sensor if you have the +20mm front springs. All this is a strip of metal with two holes spaced at 1". You could easily fabricate a set with 20mm spacing for virtually nothing.

Have a look at this thread:

    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-...e-heights.html

It seems the 2" spacers are only 30mm tall, and the bags are slightly over extended to make them a bit firmer - it's explained in the thread.

Soooo, this means the ideal spacer for a +20mm lift is no spacer. All you really need is a +20mm sensor bracket extension. Have a look about half way down this page: www.discovery2.co.uk / 2" Suspension lift

    cheers
