Question Getting rid of the Rotorflex joint - Tom Wood's Drive Shaft

Whilst redoing my diffs I decided to rid myself of the rubber Rotorflex joint by fitting a Tom Wood's Drive Shaft.

The standard drive shaft is pretty much a Conventional Two Joint, similar to (but with a rotorflex joint on the far end):

I'm thinking therefore with the 3" lift and removing the flexibility offered by the rotorflex joint, the Conventional Double Cardan will be a suitable replacement:

On the front, I run a Multiple Double Cardan:

But, I think that this would be overkill and unnecessary for the rear. Any thoughts or experiences from anyone else that has done this?

If the joint with a single universal will work then the rotoflex will too. If you are expecting problems with the rotoflex then you won't run smoothly with only a dc at one end.

With mine I just swapped out the rotoflex for the parts from a D1 and the standard tail shaft.

I have not had any issues with the rear a all, always the front, I seem to ho through a rebuild on the front every 30,000km or so.

I use a TW DC-Uni shaft on the front and back and there are still some vibrations at about 105kmh. Same with a regular Uni-Uni at the rear. No vibration with the rotoflex. I would think about keeping the Rotoflex if you're not breaking them too often and you rear pinion is compatible with the 3 bolt flange. One day I'd like to try to find a stronger Rotoflex fitment, such as perhaps the Holden V8 one etc.
    Cheers

What front shaft are you running?

I went with the Conventional Double Cardan. So far have found the vehicle smooth with no undue vibrations at 100km/h.
