Watt's linkage.
Hello Brains trust.
I have a 2000 Td5 Disco 2.
It has 200k on it with bull bar, steel brush bars and side steps, long range tank, a 2 inch lift with Billies. It is currently sitting on new tires that are 235/85 R16. Oh and I just installed the CDL lever.
I replaced all the bushes and the centre bearing in the watt's linkage about 12 months ago when I put the lift in as it was clunking.
Well the clunking is back and I have found the top bush on the linkage has loads of play in it.
The replacement parts were Britpart.
What would be a better brand, as 12 months is crap, and genuine prices are laughable.
And does the extra lift wear these parts prematurely?
Regards
Will.

Les Richmond Automotive make a dropper kit for the suspension - the parts are available separately, so you could purchase just the watts linkage parts and drop it back down to near stock standard geometry.
Britpart arn't known to be the choice in quality (at least not for their seals and gaskets). It's probably worth trying a different brand.
What type of bushes did you use? Rubber or urethane?

They were rubber. Who makes a urethane kit for the watts linkage?

I've just had this problem occur on my TD5 too. Clunks and feels like a bit of a boat exiting the kerb from my house.
And Barbagallo Land Rover quoted $150 ea. bush! Just a bit excessive. Do i buy the Britpart bush and replace it every time i do the oil and filter or is there an alternate that will actually last?
Ben.

All three bush are ~ $200 dollars from Britcar UK. (Genuine)
It's not uncommon from Britpart parts not to go the distance.

Has anyone got dimensions/vital statistics on the bushes?
And/or has anyone contacted SuperPro to see whether they have anything in their range, or can make something up?
If someone can provide the dims/specs, I'm happy to contact them.

I think one issue from previous reading is the middle one is a roller bearing, not a bush.

I have contacted superpro about the ways linkage. And they don't have anything for us.
I suggested that they develop something as there is an increasing market, and the fella said he would pass it on to the R&D guys.
I used ****part and the top bush clapped out on the drive from Townsville to Sydney.
