Everything under the bonnet tests fine. Relay, power, connections and stuff.
I have now checked with my Nanocom and the ECU is not requesting AC Clutch drive.
God knows why.
Still after suggestions and still searching.
Hey guys,
I'm currently searching through RAV but I just thought I'd ask if anyone has any suggestions.
I have checked both the fuse under the dash and the fuse under the bonnet.
The fan is running but the compressor is not engaging. I have tested the plug at the compressor and there's no power there.
Air con is not in Econ mode.
Happy Days.

Check the angle that the relay connectors go in at, mine had a problem like this, just a tweak on the connector angles fixed it. Easy way to check is wiggle the relay when the aircon on and engine running and see if the clutch engages.
Most systems will look for the low pressure switch to be made, if rhis is open no compressor. Don't know if the D2 has a switch as I don't have access to the wiring diagrams. If it is the LP switch could be out of refrigerant, time for a leak test and recharge.
Thanks Marmoset but no good there either.
There is a test with Nanocom to turn on the relay momentarily and the relay and compressor clutch both work. The problem is the ECU is not requesting it.
Holding down the AUTO and "Air Distrobution Switch" does a self test of the Air Temperature Control (ATC) ECU that returned Fault Codes 21 and 22. These are the left and right sun light sensors. Since it's dark I guess thats OK.
The only reason I can see the ECU not requesting the AC Compressor Clutch is either the Dual Pressure switch or the Evaporator temperature sensor. There is a Fault Code for a thermistor which I am guessing is the Evaporator temperature sensor but I dont know why RAV calls it the Evaporator temperature sensor in one part but a thermistor in another.
I'll test the Dual Pressure Switch tomorrow. As I said it's dark and I have to find it. I think it's behind the grill.
I'm still open for ideas.
Happy Days.
Well the Land Rover leaks oil and water, it might as well leak refrigerant. Air is still to come.
LOL
Evaporator temperature sensor and thermistor = the same thing. Why not just refer to it by the same thing each time, who knows, maybe just to keep us on our toes....
Cool. Thanks mate
Since the self check didn't throw an error for it then ill go with the dual pressure sensor test tomorrow. I guess it's the most likely. Worst thing is it'll mean going to a shop for diagnoses of what's causing it to go open circuit. Leak, too much reassure or failed sensor.
Happy days.
