noise from the spinning oil filter

I can hear my centrifugal oil filter spinning down when I turn my TD5 motor off.
I have thrown away a newly fitted filter thinking there was something wrong with the machining of it. There wasn't as the next OEM filter makes the same noise. I am using synthetic oil.
Any ideas and should I be worried?
    Regards Nick.

They spin at up to 15,000rpm when the engine is running and seem to take about 10 seconds to slow down when you switch off. As Alex says it's when you can't hear a smooth spin down that you have to worry about it.

    cheers

It was interesting that when we rebuilt ours we initially ran a heavier grade mineral oil in it and you could barely hear it spinning, as soon as we changed to the thin synth stuff it spins for ages after the car stops.

    cheers james
