Loose lid on the centrifugal filter?
thought I'd fixed my PAS leak - after putting it all back together again - no.
Narrowed it down to the join in the PAS pump - thought I'd fixed that - again no. Try again tomorrow.
While I had everything apart I decided to "fix" the oil leak from the turbo oil return pipe flange. Right mongrel to get at, but I think I had a win here...maybe
HOWEVER after putting everything back together, started it, huge oil leak somewhere under/behind turbo. Can't see where its coming from, not the obvious (loose spin-on filter). The oil seems to just appear on top of the engine mount & dribble down from there.
HELP...Please...I need it tuesday!

Loose lid on the centrifugal filter?
Yes mine had a big leak on teh LH side when I bought it. I think it was the spin on filter being loose.

Mine had the gasket that holds the filter housing to the block leak and it had the same symptoms. Best degrease and wash the block and oil filter area, get a good torch, lie under the car and get into a possie where you can shine the torch up to behind the spin on filter then get someone to start the car.
I have also had the o'ring from the old spin on filter remain behind and then when the new filter spins on it wont seal because of the extra o'ring.
Good luck.

this started today - the spin-on filter is not loose - I don't know how the centrifugal filter cap can have come loose, its due for an oil change in 750km, its been fine for 9250km, and suddenly this?
As ean_Austral said, degrease and clean then look with a torch.
I recall Justinc saying something about the flanges on the oil return pipes can become warped and need filing flat again before they will seal?
Cheers Scott
Seeing that you have been working on the oil drain, the first place to look for a sudden change is where you have been working on.
Maybe a flange is "cocked " on its seat. Did you use new gaskets or use sealant if reusing old gaskets?
Regards Philip A
used hylomar on existing gaskets. The drain flange on the turbo is not leaking - after seeing the flood underneath this was my first thought, but my hand came away clean from the flange & the area around it
Alex, for a leak of the proportions you are describing to appear after doing work on the general area does point to some fitting having been disturbed/ incorrectly refitted. the area you describe contains nothing that can fail so suddenly regarding oil. Most will start weeping long before it becomes a flood. I feel that it is a misfitted pipe flange,
Dont panic and recheck stuff carefully, preferably from underneath with the motor idling.
Cheers Scott
