    key number from chassis number

    My parents have lost there key to their D2 and don't have the key number.
    Does anybody know how I can get the key number from the chassis number other than going to the stealer?
    Also is there anybody who knows a locksmith that can cut these keys by number?

    Dealer is only option, last 6 digits & ask for the code. May have to prove ownership tho'
    Any locksmith can cut the key & some mobile guys can now code the key to your car. (Someone with a nanocom may be able to help?)

    A good locksmith might be able to make you a key if you bring them the driver's door handle, but it would probably cost more than getting the code from the dealer.
