Steve, I have a standard LR low version tow 'hitch" ie the part that slots into the square hole, that you are welcome to have if it suits. I haven't measured it but from memory about 75-100 mm drop? Cheers Gavin

Last weekend I finally got the Kaymar rear bar fitted to Charlie. Not difficult but a couple of holes were missing that needed drilling and a couple of others needed slotting a little, to get the lights to fit. Overall I'm pretty pleased, the underbody is a lot cleaner than the standard bumper/tow hitch set-up and the Kaymar tow hitch is a lot heavier duty, with a cross bar like the Hayman Reese one for the D2. Only down side is that the tow hitch receiver is a 100mm higher so I will have to get an adjustable tongue with a greater drop and in time perhaps flip the caravan axles.
End result
In wiring up the lights though I discovered a couple of things that I thought would be worth sharing.
Firstly, Kaymar do not use the standard bumper lights. I took a little while to source a pair that fitted but they are a Britax combination indicator/parker light assembly, Part No for the update D2 is 9006 00 (Kaymar part K6049). Unfortunately the amber indicator is not red (as per the standard fog light) so a trip to the local hobby store was required where I got a small pressure pack of red tint plastic paint. Tamiya Color TS-74 Clear Red. A couple of light coats was all that was needed, to make them nicely red as you will see in the pic below.
Secondly I wasn't keen on using the supplied scotch locks to splice into the vehicle wiring loom. After a bit of googling I found a male 3 way connector which was an exact match to the female wiring loom plug. (Econoseal 3 way connector male). I found a supplier on Ebay in the UK that had them and bought a couple. Part numbers and plugs are in the pic below.
They were pretty easy to fit. Firstly strip the wires and slide the green sealing grommets (wide end first) onto each wire. Next crimp the pins on the wires and insert into the black plug from the back, ensuring you have them the right way up so that they click in. Insert the yellow pin surround from the front of the plug and finally prod the green sealing grommets into the holes surrounding the wires. All very neat and simple to unplug if I want swap the old land rover bumper back.

Many thanks! Your kind offer is much appreciated. Unfortunately I'm already using the standard LR Drop hitch (its a 125mm drop) and I need another 100mm on top of that.
Luckily I found an adjustable hitch at Malz today which has a max 220mm drop, so I'm sorted. Now I just need a fine weekend to do a test run to Dwellingup
My understanding is that Kaymar don't make them any more. I got mine at the ARB clearout sale in May. The box looked like it had been sitting on the shelf for years!

They are no longer listed on the Kaymar site . How different is a D1 to a D2 regarding the mount points, Any1 know? Because there is this bar Land Rover Discovery 1 Rear BAR With Double Wheel Carrier in Barwon, VIC | eBay That may be adaptable?
