There already is an always on power lead up behind the DS tail light,,
how many amps do you need?
(and usually along/above the chassis)
I want to run some 8 gauge wire to the rear of my d2. Anybody got and tips on where they have got through the firewall or have most people run under the body and up through the floor somewhere?

I'm running 6AWG twin sheathed dual from the front battery to the rear right cargo pocket.
I ran along the side of the inner guard, down the firewall, the followed the ACE pipes etc along the top of the right hand chassis rail, using split conduit to protect wherever it might rub. Entry to the cabin is via a 25mm gland in the floor behind the access grill in the right rear lower trim. Its a complicated fitment that takes time and patience, but it's worth it.
I'd also suggest running larger gauge wire than you think you'll need, as I'm sure you'll find other uses for it once you have it installed.

yeah this is only going to run a little digital amp, and a fridge, and a few usb ports, should be big enough I hope,
thanks for the tips, ill have a good look under mine shortly
Yes, that's the right area. I went through the floor, after pulling the carpet up. Bear in mind that I had the entire rear interior trim out at the time.
If you need more info, PM me and I'll take photos.

There is a rubber grommet on either side of the fire wall through which you can feed a wire/cable. Then run the cable under the plastic strips along the edges of the door openings (take out cover strips and remove screws). When you get to the rear there area number of options. For one purpose, I ran the cable under the carpet up the wheel arch and out the hole in the carpet for the hold down ring; in a second I continued the cable under the carpet into/under the rear panier boxes.
I plan on running mine along the chassi. But was going to take it across a crossmember towards the rear of the car. Then coming up thru a grommet in the rear quarter planel. With out probing to hard. The grommets appear to be in the center of the rear bins or where the 3rd row seats fold up.
I am going to the left side as my fat arse is already on the right and I plan on mounting fridge, water pump etc on that side.
Don't forget to fit an inline fuse as close to the battery as possible.![]()

haha, I just pulled out the rear bin, then realised I also need to pull the interior trim out, this will have to continue into a tomorrow arvo job,
would you think there is enough room under there to put one of those screw up glands that sparkies use on machinery? just thinking might be good to have the ability to undo a nut and wack another wire through if needed later, then just tighten it up and its sealed
