Hi all , just fitted 245/70/r16 to my d2 instead of 235/70/r16 and it feels that I am lacking power. Do I need a performance chip ?????

Welcome to the forum. It would be good if you could pop along to the introductions section and say a few words too.
In terms of your question, a fair amount of crystal ball gazing may be required to answer. You may be able to help by giving some extra details, is it a V8 or TD5, auto or manual, year, approximate mileage, history.

There is less than 15mm difference in diameter, doubt the tyres are the cause but a chip is always good.

its not the tyres......I am running the same as you (tyres are Bridgestone 697's) and had come down from a Khumo KL71 muddy......I noticed performance increase not decrease. Your new tyres have probably highlighted something you hadn't noticed previously.
