    oil leak 😢

    Hey guys,
Anyone had an oil leak from the front camshaft seal?
Is it an easy fix and how much am I up for?
I don't think I have the tools to do it myself.
    Please help

    Thanks
    Shell

    Td5?
My old seal literally fell out.
10mm socket to move the harness in front of the seal out the way.
    $20 - 30 for a new seal.
Clean up the area nicely and press new seal in by hand.
    Replace harness.
    Job done
A 5 year old could do it.

Very easy fix, Just prize out and replace. Check and see what was causing the leak ie 'O' ring seal etc.

The front camshaft seal is the large round black plastic plug that sits behind the harness and EGR pipe/cooler.

my apologies, i was confusing the crankshaft seal as mentioned at the bottom of this one www.discovery2.co.uk / Crankshaft pulley* / TV damper replacement

so if it is either of the two the camshaft seal is easy, the crankshaft seal is a PITA.

Yep defiantly the front camshaft seal. Thank you everyone for your help and advice I will be changing it as soon as I can get the bolt out of the drivers side of the engine cover thing (it's turning but not coming out)
