    Affordable Discovery 2 Nudge Bar?

    Hi Guys,

Can anyone recommend somewhere in Oz that offers an affordable black nudge bar for the Discovery 2? Looking for a place to add spot lights and quite like the look of the nudge bar as opposed to the full bull bar.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Antony.

I'd think carefully about mounting lights in front of the radiator........

I cannot provide you with info re bar, though I do recollect one being advertised on Gumtree recently.
Disregard the advice offered about driving lights. No effect whatsoever on temps!
I have two 7" lights mounted on a Stainless steel nudge bar and have not seen any change in operating temps as a result.

If it's just for spotlights the other alternative is a light bar. I had a LR one on mine until I destroyed the stock bumper, and it did the job fine. They mount through the steel armature of the bumper just above the crush cans so are pretty stable - you do get a bit of vibration cf mounting on a bullbar.

I have one gathering dust if you are interested.

    Cheers

ECB make nudge bars for the D2. I've been tossing up whether to get one or go for a full bar.

Hey Paul, I would be interested in taking that light bar off your hands if the OP isn't.

I'm not a fan of the metal nudge bars, but I do quite like the plastic ones which look very integrated into the original bar though. I haven't seen any around unfortunately.

As long as the engine is running on the thermostat and there is enough cooling capacity you should not see any inccrease.

It is when the cooling system is being stressed eg very hot day, air conditioning on, maybe tail wind that you will see a difference.

They have Saudi grilles in the Middle East for a reason.

It depends on what you call affordable...

I just got an XROX bar.

    Love it!

It has many mounting points to add things.

It was about $12 - 1300 from memory...

Thanks for the replies! I've been considering a second hand ECB nudge bar which I do like the look of, but it would be mostly for spotlights. Any more info on the lightbar?

It's LR accessory STC50243 for the black, silver also available. Roughly $150.

This is with the Hella rallye 1000's with standard covers.

I ended up changing to the grilles same as the top pic which looked much better. I still think the accessorised stock look is pretty damn good. I'm often tempted to buy a standard bumper to replace the sawn off bullbar.
