    Replacement ECU

I am going to start collecting a range of spares to carry in the event of a remote break down. One item on my list is a spare engine ECU.

Mine is an 03 TD5. Will an 04 also work? If I fit another unit(second hand) what information will I need to apply to it to make it work?
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Find out what ECU you have first they have sticker on them that will tell you this but if you have a Nanocom you can see it without removing the ECU.
If you have a NNN000520 then this model ECU regardless of what year should work.
They differ from Auto to Manual some models will interchange but I personally would just get one the same as you have already

You will need to get your new ECU and put your injector codes into it and also synch the security so you can just swap it out on the roadside without any complications.

If you have .tun files from someone who has locked them to your VIN then you will need to get your VIN put into the ECU
Offtrack is your man for this.

Yes, I have a nanocom so I can do all the coding.
