    Ting ting ting!!!!

Thought it was too good to be true. My D2 has been running like a clock for months UNTIL NOW.
Have just done a 1000 k run in the last two days and now it has a ting ting ting noise coming from the gear box.
I have been told that it could be the drive plate. Now I do not need the cost of a gear box rebuild. It is a 1999 td5 auto.
Any thoughts as to what it is?
I was hoping it was an exhaust baffle but it is not that. I did notice more oil than usual dripping off the underside of the car. I checked the dipstick and it was normal, ie. no loss of engine oil.

Couldn't get much better news than that. The streak continues.

Similar to me, ting ting ting, (Disc2 V8) and the heat shield on the cats is spot welded on at the ends, the found weld broke and caused a vibration going ting ting, fixed it by using a big jubilee clamp.

I just had this and the dip stick was fine and then I found out my oil cooler was leaking. careful .On the inside of the wheel arch is a plastic guard you can take off with about 4 bolts and you can check the lines joiners and cooler to see if you have a leak.

This explains the ting ting ting, but what about the, and I quote,

" I did notice more oil than usual dripping off the underside of the car."
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

    ting

I think the oil is from the rocker cover that was removed to fit the new injector harness. Never was quite happy with it. Will look at that when I decide to stop my apathy.
