    Caravan mirrors for a D2

Can anyone recommend a good quality set of caravan mirrors for my D2?

I've just bought a caravan that is 8ft wide and I'd like a little bit more rear vision.

I used Aussie Truck Mirrors and they were pretty good, but need to be adjusted just right, and tensioned tightly.

Hey mate. I just use a generic brand mirror mounted towing mirror and have had good service from them. The only mod I had to perform was to replace the light gauge flatbar that the main clamping screw screws into with a piece of 3mm. The left mirror came off once but that was before the mod. I originally had the coast to coast door mounted mirror that just does not work on a D2. It interferes with the up/down of the window to the extent that you don't want to use the window. So for me, the mirror mount is the go. They also take half the time to fit.
    Regards
    Robbo.

    Hi Gullible,

I have been through a number of mirror setups over the years with different vans, the best thing I ever did was get a reversing camera setup with 2 cameras, one for where the number plate is attached to the car which allows for very easy hook-up of the van (shows the tow ball and the van hitch), and a camera for the rear of the van. You can switch between the two cameras and on the highway the van camera shows you what is right behind the van which mirrors tend not to be able to pick up.

    Cheers

I know that this is a can of worms, but whilst this setup may be the most convenient, it is also illegal, especially with an 8ft wide van, which is already on the maximum width. Mirrors must be fitted to allow reverse vision at each corner of the van.

Ooo, I like the Milenco Aero - where can I get them from?

And what size do you suggest?

Hi Gullible, Aussie Traveller RV have them. They Aero 2 only come in one size but they are highly adjustable; once affixed to the Disco's mirrors they will not move.
