    Question Replacement for DDL100540?

The rubber strip that touches the windscreen from the air intake plenum (the plastic part at the base of the windscreen that the winderscreen wipers come up through) on my vehicle has shrunken with age and sun exposure.

I looked it up on MicroCat at it would seem the part number is DDL100540. However, Google searching reveals that this part number is obsolete with no replacement part number.

Anyone found a solution to this?

Have you tried calling a supplier/dealer.

Britcar UK have this on their site "This part is obsolete but we may be able to order it for you. Please let us know if you are interested in this part."

Must be running the stock down somewhere.

Also, I have a brand new one and it still doesn't seal properly.

    Regards

Yes I have, the response from Britcar was:

    Hello,

I have checked and unfortunately we won't be able to get this part.

This is the first Land Rover part I have encountered that cannot be sourced.

I had a similar problem for a trim finisher I was looking for. Locally I was told that it had been discontinued.
I eventually found what I was looking for at Hunters Land Rover Norwich UK. They sell on Ebay or you can contact them directly as I did.

Maybe the manufacturers are thinking along the lines, 'if you are chasing the rubber you'll also be chasing the plenum'. Pretty sure the plenum is the first to fail thanks to windscreen repairers. (It all comes as one part then).

I can’t believe the rubber is in worse condition than the plastic.

Maybe a wrecker is your only option but quality would be a bit hit/miss and ultimately probably better off with the current arrangement

    Regards
    Andrew
