Hi, Since it's very very very unlikely that some one is going to steal Land Rover mags, most people get rid of the stupid fragile lock nut key and replace them with an ordinary wheel nut like the others.
Even with the key trying to take a nut off can strip the key.
Not a very happy feeling when stuck on the side of the road, even unhappier when its out bush.
If your desperate to get your wheel off , Ie to change a flat try a cold chisel and hammer and tap the edges of the nut and try to spin it off.
    regards, Mario

I also did the above. One of mine was failing and I didn't want to be stuck if I weren't able to get it off. Ordered 5 regular replacements and did that. You may also be aware that they aren't all the same keys; there's a letter associated with each different style of key.

Mine were really worn and impossible to get off. So I ordered 4 standard nuts + 1 Spare wheel standard nut (The spare wheel nuts are slightly different diameter) and replaced the locking nuts. I just hammered on a 24mm socket and used a breaker bar to undo the old nuts. See my story here: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-...uts-stuck.html

as stated above, just hammer on a socket and remove the locknuts, you don't need them

Whilst I couldn't careless about the LR wheels, 5 tyres can cost up to $2000. That's worth me keeping the LR lock nuts on the wheels and a coal chisle and hammer in the tool box.

    Happy Days.

Getting off might be today's job just to safe!!!

    Thanks again
