    Leaky leaky.

    Hia folks.
I'm chasing an oil leak on my Td5 auto.

From the pics it 'hangs' on one of the bottom of the bellhousing, unless my eyes deceive me.
In 'drips on the ground' terms it's nil. Never had it drip on the ground, concrete floor so pretty obvious.
My thoughts are either the rocker cover gasket or FPR, unless anyone has another suggestion.
It's getting a new sump gasket soon anyway, might as well do the rocker cover while I'm in a spanner swinging mood.
Oh and P.S, YES I KNOW the underside needs a going over with a pressure washer and degreaser

Spend $6 on a couple of degreaser cans, then you might be able to see more clearly where it is coming from.

Spend $12 then, a lot of build up there, concourse condition that would not be acceptable!. Actually I bought a 3in1 can recently, like that foamy tire cleaner but it clears the gunk really well.

Money is on a rocker cover leak at the rear of the head.

    Pfft. Concourse condition
You've heard of Dunga spec, now brace yourself for Enter the Muppet(Dragon)

I too initially went for FPR, as it's a bit gunky around that area of the head but it doesn't seem diesel-y (smell) and I know the rocker cover gaskets tend to go at the back of the head.
    I'll have a squiz....

It appears to have been washing some of the gunk off, therefore more likely to be diesel leaking than oil.
Therefore have to agree with Blknight.aus on the FPR

FPR. the heat evaporates the volatiles from the diesel leaving its base, oil!
