    Look what I found..

While under the Disco I found this thing, any ideas?

I also found two female spade connectors hanging at the back of the Auto transmission. Any ideas?

It's one of the accelerometers for ACE, the other one is in your roof.

Land Rover Workshop Manuals > Discovery II > FRONT SUSPENSION > REPAIRS > Accelerometer - ACE - lower

    Thanks 999,

Anybody know if the two spade connectors at the back of the Auto are suppose to be connected? I couldn't see much in the dark.

Wild guess only--something to do with the temp. sensor for the auto transmission. There is a dash warning light for auto overheat, maybe someone has disconnected it because it was malfunctioning.

The Disco2 has a lot of odd unused plugs and bits and pieces all over it.
    Cheers

No, they are not meant to be connected. They are apparently for test purposes and are not shown on the D2 wiring diagrams.

The transmission warning light on the dash is hooked up to the temp sensor on the transmission fluid cooler.

I have noticed that. I wonder how to find out what they can be used for?? On the Xtrail it was usually obvious.

Was it the same wiring loom for the manual Disco? Could be something like neutral switch or 5th gear switch?

+1. They are unconnected on my D2 TD5. If you look around the truck generally you'll find a lot of multipin plugs and connectors attached to nothing. It's for different kit on different models I assume.
