    CV joints and pricing

I have a strange noise from the front left side, especially when placing a right hand down; turning left the noise goes away

I have had the wheels aligned by a reputable mob in Sydney and had a secondary review by another reputable suspension company

Neither have provided a definitive diagnosis and the car is deemed safe - all good

I think the CV joint and/or the wheel bearing may need replacing???

I know the wheel bearings are $$$$$, yet there seems to be a vast discrepancy on the cost of a CV joint from $80 to a $1000 and somewhere between

    any suggestions/comments

    thanks

Have a look on Microcat for the part numbers and check the web (especially UK websites) for pricing.

CVs usually make a clunk, clunk, clunk type noise when turning on hard lock to the side that has the faulty unit, especially when putting some power in.

Microcat - Spare parts Land Rover catalogue in English

Click the Spare Parts catalogue in the centre down the bottom.

For a little extra coin you could go Ashcroft hd cv and halfshafts and for normal 4wd duties never worry again.

    Cheers
