Has anyone wired the MadMan EMS < MadMan - Home > into the standard/factory/OEM coolant/water temperature switch?
According to the website:

The MadMan EMS came with a house coupling for the low level water sensor and a new temperature sensor. I don't like having this extra piece in my top radiator hose as it twice has been a minor water leak.
Also the low level coolant sensor is too low - I have replaced it now with one of these Haydn Coolant Alarms - Sensor Land Rover Td5 - (Powered by CubeCart)

Yes, mine cracked at the join after only 20 months. Being charged $40 to replace the plastic insert which I think is a big rich.I don't like having this extra piece in my top radiator hose as it twice has been a minor water leak.
Have they started selling the sensor separately now?
I tried last year through companies in Aus as well as the Haynes company in the UK and they would not sell the sensor separate?
Could you pleas confirm if they are selling the sensor separate now as I have a Madman I want to install as well.

I made my own sensor for my MadMan install. It is simply the original plastic screw in plug with a stainless steel fine bolt down the center and a suitable electrical tab. A few minutes work and already had the parts.
For info the other sensors are - thermocouple for EGT $17, oil pressure incl switch $10, thermistors for coolant temp via a bolt next to the factory sensor as well as transmission temp from the surface of the coolant line: all eBay.

More info for me please. I don't like cutting the top hose as it's another point of failure (as happened). Is there another easy way to get same readings for the madman sensor?
Re the temp sensor. Like Stallie my aim was to not cut into anything for any of the sensors so the obvious solution for coolant was to use a sensor under a bolt in a suitable place. My choice is one of the bolts on the outlet housing right next to the engine mounted sensor. In fact there are other coolant monitors on the market that use a similar approach. Similarly for transmission temp my choice is a sensor on the surface of the pipe taking the fluid to the cooler and close to the inlet of the cooler itself.
The Madman comes already calibrated for a VDO temp sender which is a thermistor (negative temp coefficient type) and also capability to calibrate your own sensor. I found a suitable thermistor for a few dollars on eBay - you can see how it comes with the silver metal casing on the end of a black cable in the picture above. This is simply crimped into the bolt-on terminal shown adjacent. Calibration is straight forward per the manual using a pot of water on the stove and a thermometer.
Works a treat and nothing drilled or cut.
