    Bling or sound replacement?

I found this other night. Land Rover Discovery 2 TD5 Exhaust Manifold Stainless Steel | eBay Looks rather good and well made(and well priced)
I am wondering what others think about its merits and downs. Hopefully some1 with more metallurgy knowledge will expand on the suitability regarding expansions between the alloy and the manifold faces. Is it worse than cast? etc. Let the debate begin!!

Avoid stainless manifolds on the TD5.

There is a cast upgrade that is more suited.

There was a recent thread on the stainless ones, they dont have the longevity etc...

Wow, Tombie, you are quick off the mark! Yes , My thoughts were much along the same lines, re fracturing from vibrations , given the properties that I know of stainless. But of course what you think you know sometimes is not as it seems. So the thoughts others more in the know can be helpful.
Note I am not planning or in the line to replace mine just looked interesting. The Alliesport 1 looks good in the cast line.

It's not going to make any more power than the cast iron original. waste of money in my opinion.

Properly modified the original manifold is good as gold.

This is the link to AlliSports manifold TD5 Exhaust manifold | www.allisport.com
I did not realize there was already a thread regarding the stainless manifolds. It never showed in my first search.(who put it in general chat? ) Sometimes the site google can be very specific with its search terms {"td5 stainless manifold" never showed it, but when I did "stainless manifold", about 6 threads jumped up!!)

    Hello,
Stainless steel manifolds are okay if they use 321 or 409 stainless and made the correct way as in back purging, most cheaper ones are either 304 or 316 which cannot take the heat. Cast is better but again for what gain and cost.

after reading Allisports site they say a tabular manifold in the pattern of the original does not work. Issues with cracking renders them impractical . So if they cant get them to work El Cheapo s are certianly not!.
