    cdl shifter noise?

I will be going the d1 CDL shifter onto my D2 V8 auto, makes sense financially. I have heard/read that there is a noise transfer into the cabin, How bad/loud is this? can it be dampened? cheers for reply in advance

    Hey mate
Not quite sure what you mean. Did you mean noise in terms of the D1 (linkage) being noisier than the D2 (cable) system?
If so, with all the other noise of a constant 4WD drivetrain going on, I don't think you'll notice.

In terms of general noise, I get a little more now, as when I fitted the Ashcroft I was too cheap/lazy to make up a new foam gate shroud for the shifter as you (obviously) need to cut it to allow shifting across the gate when locking. However this is really minimal in the great scheme of things.
If you take care of this I really don't think you will find any difference at all between a CDL/non-CDL vehicle.
    Cheers

I've got a home made el-cheapo CDL shifter (went down the welded extension bars and uni joint route), and I hardly notice any extra noise in the cab.
Just cut the thick rubber pad/deadener to suit the extra lever movement and you'll be good....
