    TD5 won't fire up

    was giving the old girl a little tlc today when I noticed a wire (red) broken off fuel filter....went to great trouble to reconnect after checking filter for contamination..... Went to fire up turned on key.....pump ran started engine, ran a couple of minutes and stopped.....have re run priming sequence but no start ran battery flat ......now have it on charger.....any clues would be a big help

    Have you tried after disconnecting the wire you fixed?!

    Did you take the filter off at all? They can be a bitch to get going if the starting battery is less then perfect. If not cut that wire

    Yes ,.....Thought it may have been a fuse, appears to have been lack of cranking power. eventually started fine when jump starter used... many thanks

    yes filter was drained....during the course of putting her on and off ramps she had run a little low on battery.....eventually started with jump starter...many thanks for your reply
