    Issue with new key

    Hi all, I have a D2 2001 and just bought a new key 433mhz to replace a lost one and had a mobile guy come and programme it for me.

    Here is where it gets interesting, unless the key is put in the ignition and started within say 10 - 20 seconds of unlocking the car, the key will not start the car. It turns to start and nothing happens. If I then hit the unlock button again, it starts!

    If I get the other key (original) it starts whether the button is pressed or not, it's only the new programmed one that does this.

    I hope what I said makes sense! Does anyone have any ideas?

    So you bought one of THOSE ebay keys. I started a thread about this a few months ago.

    The keys are missing a few components and don't seem to do the right thing with the passive immobiliser. The only thing you can really do is disable passive immobilisation.
