a day of fixing those little faults

Well have spent half the day fixing a few faults that have been on the to do list for awhile now first one was to adjust handbrake this is the second time I have adjusted it in 13 years so not to bad.

The next job on list was fix centre console it was pushed through had to always fumble around to get switches used some Perspex to remount the console and some glue.

The next job was an annoying rattle which turned out to be three separate causes as I fixed one the noise would change, first thing found was heat shield protecting transfer case mount from heat off exhaust pipe, the second thing was a hydraulic tank hitting exhaust adjusted mounting bolts ( this tank is for hydraulic winch I fitted years ago ).

The last rattle was only found after crawling under disco when it was running there is a damper assembly behind the handbrake drum mounting nuts where loose tightened them up so much quieter.
disco seriesII mods so far:-bullbar,hyd winch,
detriot locker, lsd front,C.D.L kit, chipped and bigger intercooler,2" lift, rock sliders, lsd in transfer case, modified auto trans.

it is all together now but what I did was cut two strips of Perspex one for the top and the other for the bottom, the original plastic that the speedi clips fit to had come away so I filed out those parts that had broken off.

next was to modify the bottom strip of perspex as you need to cut two slots in it to fit to the switch console next was drill the holes for the bottom use the original holes, for the top I used the middle holes and cut the Perspex to fit between the switches and you have to cut a slot in the console to allow speedi clip to fit.

Glue in the bottom strip first after working out the position and marking it so things line up use some small vise grips to hold everything together till glue goes off.

fit the switch console and screws to bottom to help work out position of the top piece remove console and glue the top strip in.
