    2002 Disco roof lining sagging

Hi has anyone replaced or repaired sagging head lining in Disco 2.
I have had a few quotes around $350-400 to have it replaced. Is it an easy job or should I outlay the cash.
Only Disco owners who have had this problem need reply so that is all of you
    Thanks for any suggestions
    Robert

It's a labour intensive job so if you can do some of it yourself, you might save some $$.

The headlining is not hard to remove, just takes time.

If you feel up to replacing the lining material yourself, others here can help you as I just spend around $120 & get the trimmer to do that side of it.

Scouse is correct, if you can do some yourself there's potentially some coin to be saved.
Mine has the rear air, so ducts in the roof as well...took me an hour to remove the board, and another hour to fully re-install.
    No special tools required.
Let someone who knows to replace the material.

I recommend removing and refitting the board, but get an auto trimmer to swap the fabric. Its not hard to R&R (just fiddly) and I don't remember using any unusual tools, so you can save the labour cost there. I have seen some dreadful home attempts at gluing on the material to the board, a trimmer should be able to do this in a day if you drop it off early in the morning for somewhere around $150-200.
I think I made a post about a year ago about using a trimmer in Granville Sydney - he did an awesome job $150 from memory, it still looks fresh and new - much better than the draping material I put up with for way to long

Keep in mind the liner is BIG so you need a vehicle capable of transporting it without creasing it.

While looking around at Discos I found a novel fix to one roof liners.

Screws with those little plastic caps were used in the corners to hold the fabric up.

When mine sat in Adelaide's 43C temps it started to sag too. Cost just over $10 for caps and screws from the hardware store to fix mine and doesn't look too bad now...

I'm getting the parents disco 2 roof lining done atm. I have removed it and took 1/2 hour to remove (I have removed them before). All you need is a Philips head screwdriver and a 8mm socket. I did use a trim clip remover for the push in clips but you can remove them by supporting back end of trim and pulling gently. A motor trimmer is going to recover for $150. It was $170 but he dropped the price because I got 2 Freelander ones done as well.
