    red coolant leaking everywhere

I did a complete hose change and coolant change a coupleof months ago with red coolant.

I recall AFAIR Tombie commenting that the red coolant leaks everywhere and I had to go around all the hoses and refit all the spring tension clips that I had replaced with screw clamps as the damn hoses leaked EVERYWHERE..

I don't lose very much at all but it worries me WHERE it is leaking.

It is leaking AFAIK out of the ends of a couple of hoses and seems to be wicking down the reinforcing cords in 2 hoses, the one from the water pump down to the crossover pipe to the thermostat, and one of the small bypass hoses . Both hoses have bright red spots where the cords emerge on the end.
I would have thought that the hoses inner layer should not allow this unless damaged.
Should I worry replace or just be happy don't worry?
    Regards Philip A

Where did you buy your hoses from? I brought a set from Ebay in 2010 and within the next 12 months I had to replace them all, I only buy my coolant hoses from the local dealer now.

Regardless of brand of hoses there is no way coolant of ANY type, red, green, blue or purple should leak or wick from new hoses! If they are doing that there is a serious flaw in their construction and I would not trust them at all! Beat a path to the door of where you got them or as Tombie said , get genuine 1's.

I cant remember who was my supplier on Ebay but that was the same experience I had, all had genuine labels but failed early, my thought is that they may have been old stock and passed their use by date.

If it makes you feel any better my new genuine Land Rover pump to coolant rail hose (PEH101660) is also showing signs of wicking
