    D2 Stereo Wiring Colours

    Hi Guys,

Posted this in the comm/car audio section and got no response - hoping someone might be able to direct me to a diagram or list of the wiring colours for the head unit harness of a 2010 Discovery. I found a diagram in RAVE for a LHD model, but none of the colours seem to match.

It's the base model, single DIN radio/tape player.

I've got the unit out thanks to some good advice from here (rivets worked a treat), now I just need to sort the wiring.

    Cheers Rob.

What head unit are you looking to fit?

    Radio unit

I just bought a replacement head and it plugged in without an adapter as the D2 fitting is a standard European apparently. Maybe you can Google it?

The wiring behind the dash is multi part... the first part - into the head unit is an adapter that goes further (not very far) and meets 2x ISO plugs.

If your replacement head unit is ISO plugged then it will plug right in.

If its an Alpine / Pioneer / Sony etc... then just purchase the appropriate loom from here: HARNESSES - Car Audio Accessories AERPRO

    Example:

    Sorry that's a 2002 D2. :S

Thanks for that, much clearer now. I was getting a bit confused with all this ISO adapter/brand adapter stuff. It's a Pioneer unit, so I just need the pioneer to ISO adapter and then it's just plug and play?

    Cheers, rob.

Just wanted to give a big thanks for the great advice. Got the ISO plug, plugged it all in - wham, bam thankyou for the vastly improved sound! The only trick was getting the plugs to sit out of the road so the unit would sit all the way back in the cradle, but even that was just 5 mins of fiddling. Stoked!

Do you think you can show a picture how your replacement unit sits on the dash? I am planning to replace mine but not sure whether it will need a blank plate or not to make it fit. Thanks

Once the larger front factory unit comes out it's a std single din opening.

Just fit the cage, plug in the Aerpro adapter to suit your head unit to ISO and off you go!
